Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
Actually in the long run I found C++ much easier than using C ADTs. I completed a similar sized project with practically the same functions in almost half the time, half the code, without a partner, and with 0 memory leaks. destructors FTW
If you're actually a competent C programmer you can get all of the non-sucky features of C++ just as easily with preprocessor macros.
Further, Apolyton is not society at large. We exist as a community of gamers, and I believe that part of my responsibility as a moderator is to maintain that sense of community. I don't believe allowing one poster to track down and tell on another poster fosters that sense.
And finally we get to it. This is the coward's argument I was referring to earlier.

C++
But in C++ I have all the nice class libraries/etc in ROOT which are handy for plotting, calculations, fitting, and data analysis.

If you were actually a lawyer you would know that:
a) suicide isn't a crime
b) you can't get sued for a single phone call to somebody's house in which you tell the truth
c) there is such a thing as a de minimis argument
Or since it's obvious that quite a few people post from work, how about if someone thought it was necessary to research and inform the bosses of those that posted here that their employees weren't working 100% of the time.
I could spend the entire day at home masturbating, and as long as it wasn't every day and I was getting my work done my bosses wouldn't care.

There are cases with a clear moral imperative to intervene - e.g. suicide or credible death threats. There are cases where the imperative to intervene is either murky or wholly absent. For example, when a person makes statements about their motivations for some action, which if true would produce an arguable harm, and we don't have good evidence that the person's word is reliable, and we don't have good evidence that the person's own knowledge is reliable, and that person has expressed a desire for anonymity, and IF WE ARE WRONG our intervention could result in substantial harm - all of these apply to the snoopy situation, and all of them say DON'T INTERVENE.
It could be considered stalking, harassment, or invasion of privacy.
I think you should ask for your money back on that online law degree.
Could be considered in the sense that you could probably convince the right lawyer to take it to court and make a mess of things before it gets dismissed.

I'm not sure how this argument displays cowardice. To me, it's merely stating that, on Apolyton, we value the people and community of the site more highly than the personal affairs of random other non-posters.

a) It's not credible that his statements to us regarding his feelings on the matter are less honest than his statements to his girlfriend are
b) You're making the same error in reasoning that the anti-DP people were a week or so ago
c) Expressing a desire for anonymity is indicative of nothing more than his desire to continue misleading his girlfriend
