I'd root for Ron Paul. I don't think he could get most of his real tinfoil stuff past congress (withdraw from the UN, gold standard, ect), even an R congress, so probably the least harmful.

Colin Powel was a guy I liked in the past. Made some mistakes in the Bush admin. Not sure on him.

Maybe Newt. Mainly just to see if we can get some surpluses like we did with his congress and Clinton.

You don't even have the guy that will get the 2012 Republican nomination.

John Huntsman, former governor of Utah and current ambassador to China.

The Chinese connection() will be a big deal in 2012.

          ACK!

A Powell/Rice ticket would be so excellent.

Powell quite clearly left the GOP and shut the door afterwards, Sloww.

He endorsed Obama, he didn't leave the GOP. Some politicians (not many) put the country above party loyalty.

Whether that plays well with party loyalist primary voters or not is another question, but electibability isn't what this poll is after.

I voted Crist, Gingrich, and Jindal. All who voted for the panoply of senators are suckers.

Also, Corker is a senator, not a gov, unless you are anticipating a move.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. I don't give a rat's ass about party affiliation. I care about what the person thinks and how they would go about doing their job.

I think actively campaigning against your dream GOP candidate and giving speeches extolling the virtues of big government is a big sign where your preferences lie.

I think he made clear that he had nothing against McCain, but had a big problem with Palin and the unsavory vitriol accompanying her and many GOP voters in the last days of the campaign. As for the big government thing, he was always a moderate. Plus no GOPer has done more for big government than President Bush and he, sadly, is still a Republican.

                              It's gotta be:

                              Mark Sanford
Soon to be Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin
                              Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal

                              CLASSIC COMBO.
