    I think I admitted earlier that I had too much of an emotional reaction initially, DD so give me some credit.

    On another note, a friend came over tonight and we watched a DVD movie, To Wong Foo. Now I'm thinking how nice it would be for a trio of drag queens to show BK the lighter side of life, and to dress him up in drag.
    A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

        Below is the text of the ruling, I would recommend it for some light reading,it is one of the more readable opinions you'll find and the author demonstrates the internal conflict in rendering this decision. After reading the first 15-20 pages, the ruling will should (begrudgingly) make sense to rational people. Interestingly, the California AG and the San Fran city atty both filed briefs on behalf of overturning proposition 8.

        In fact, the Court really hammered the AG, which I found to be amusing:" In addition, no authority supports the Attorney General’s claim that a constitutional amendment adopted through the constitutionally prescribed procedure is invalid simply because the amendment affects a prior judicial interpretation of a right that the Constitution denominates “inalienable.” The natural-law jurisprudence reflected in passages from the few early judicial opinions relied upon by the Attorney General has been discredited for many years"

        Yikes! Frankly, I'm not sure the AG felt the need to intervene in this matter, but oh well.

                          It was a very close vote and there was a **** load of out of state money which got funneled into the pro 8 campaign. So, yes, blame the voters but also blame the Mormon Church, Focus on the family, the Republican Party and the other hate mongers who bankroll discrimination.

                                While I disagree with what the voters desire, I don't think it the vote is a result of a bunch of homphobes/etc.
