The best steak in Manila can be had at a restaurant called Gulliver's, at the top of the Great Eastern Hotel. The Great Eastern has seen better days, but still prides itself on an exquisite cut of beef brought to your table by Filipinas resplendent in male colonial American garb, from their knickerbockers top their tri-corner hats. This whole surreal scene would be unimaginable if the US had remained a colony of Great Britain. Plus -- did I mention this? -- it's a really freakin' extraordinary steak.

So was the Revolution worth it? Damned straight.

The first 200 years were ok. It's just since one of the major parties because insane and radical when things started to turn weird.

So you're bigoted against your own parents.

How is it bigotry to point out the simple fact that our parents' generation destroyed America?

Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.
