Back in 1775, this revolution replaced the Dictator, some British guy, with this guy George Washington in America. The king was a nasty dictator at best, he was brutal and he taxed tea. People didn't get dragged out of their homes in the middle of the night, mostly because living under British rule wasn't as bad as it sounds.
Many of the youth of the nation played an important role in this revolution.
Now here it is 200 years later, are the people really any better off?
I was reading a newspaper piece and many of the founding fathers who participated in the revolution 200 years ago, now wish (if they weren't dead) they hadn't. Many admitted that even though the King was bad, it is now far worse in the country. Some even go as far as to claim that if just the US had stayed part of the British empire the average citizen would enjoy comparable rights and a higher standard of living today.
