The American revolution ... was it worth it?

The best steak in Manila can be had at a restaurant called Gulliver's, at the top of the Great Eastern Hotel. The Great Eastern has seen better days, but still prides itself on an exquisite cut of beef brought to your table by Filipinas resplendent in male colonial American garb, from their knickerbockers top their tri-corner hats. This whole surreal scene would be unimaginable if the US had remained a colony of Great Britain. Plus -- did I mention this? -- it's a really freakin' extraordinary steak.
So was the Revolution worth it? Damned straight.

So you're bigoted against your own parents.Originally posted by Drake Tungsten View PostOf course the American Revolution was worth it. The U.S. stood astride the world like a colossus until the Baby Boomers came to power and ruined everything. Still, it was a good run...
niceA lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

Truth = bigotryOriginally posted by Drake Tungsten View PostHow is it bigotry to point out the simple fact that our parents' generation destroyed America?
