Apparently Jacob did touch Sayid and I just missed it. I hereby rescind Sayid's death sentence. Juliet and Miles are still screwed, though.

And since I now much prefer juliet over kate, they can't kill her.

The actress that plays Juliet has a new job on the remake of "V". She's dead...

Jacob touched him and that stopped him from walking out into the street with his wife/gf who then proceeded to get hit by a car.

While I really ike the Jacob touched connection to determine their fate next season. He did touch Locke.

He not only touched him, I think he brought him back to life.

Which is baffling... can Locke be resurrected again? The blast shouldn't have any effect on Ben, Sun, Frank, Ilana, Richard, Dead Locke, or Fake Locke, since it happened 30 years ago, and whatever happened, happened. (And, Ben was right: Dead is dead.)


Even if Jacob hadn't touched Sayid, there is no way on Earth they'd let Sayid die off-screen like that. I'm not saying he won't eventually die from the gunshot, but he isn't dead yet.

As for what the first scene of the last season would be, there is no way to predict. Every season has started off with a scene of complete what the **** (Des living in the hatch, Juliet's book club, the car chase, Chang's wife and baby Miles) and only at the end of the scene did it tie back into what we already know. So, we could probably predict that the end of the first scene will show the time travelers back in the present, but the start of the scene is sure to be pure mind****ery.

And I hope to **** Juliet is still around, because I want to punch Kate right in her goddamn throat.



A couple lingering questions... Richard said he saw the time travelers die. Either he was lying, or he saw the blast from a (safe?) distance. Also... Ricardus. So is he actually an ancient Roman? Does he have anything to do with the ship seen in the distance in the opening scene? Can we assume that was the Black Rock? If so, it still doesn't explain how it ended up a couple miles inland.

I'm assuming that the ship was the Black Rock and that Richard was on it. God only knows what awesome thing put it in the middle of the jungle.

I don't think that's possible. Alterna-Locke is whatever was trapped in what we thought was Jacob's cabin; note the gap in the ash ring surrounding the cabin that allowed whatever was inside to escape. The smoke monster appeared all over the island during the period when the ash ring was still intact and whatever was inside the cabin was still trapped there, so the smoke monster isn't Alterna-Locke. It does seem to be interested in helping Alterna-Locke though, per its instructions to Ben.

Do we know when the ash was broken?

Plus, we have the clues. Ben couldn't summon the smoke monster, instead of the smoke monster coming out, Locke came out of the jungle. When Ben went to be judged by the smoke monster, the monster didn't appear until Locke went to go look for some rope.

Yes, and the monster came out of a grate right in front of Ben rather than from the upper level where Fake Locke was. They aren't the same...

Well, to be fair, he could have turned into smoke and worked his way under the grate from somewhere else. That isn't proof he isn't the smoke.


I don't think Richard came on the Black Rock. "Ricardus" sounds much older than the Black Rock.
