"Ricardus" sounds much older than the Black Rock.
"Ricardus" is just Latin for "Richard". We already know that all the Others are taught to speak Latin, which may mean that Jacob has a preference for the language. It seems pretty silly to assume Richard is Roman (when there's never been a Roman connection on the show before) when it's more likely that Jacob just told Ilana to ask for Ricardus.KH FOR OWNER!

Also, I'll revise my earlier statement, Sayid isn't dead yet.
He isn't going to die, period, not from this. No way Sayid ****ing Jarrah is getting killed by punkass Roger Linus. There are only two entities on the island that are badass enough to take him down: Ben and the smoke. And I'm not sure about the smoke."My nation is the world, and my religion is to do good." --Thomas Paine

I guess we have to assume that the help Jacob asked of Ilana was to bring Sayid back. Did he want to make sure that Sayid shot Ben, or does he have other plans for Captain Kickass?"My nation is the world, and my religion is to do good." --Thomas Paine

Fair point. Still not convinced that Richard was on the boat, but a fair point nonetheless.Originally posted by Drake Tungsten View Post"Ricardus" sounds much older than the Black Rock.

Great episode.
I hope we get more desmond next season.
I think Richard was on the Blackrock and cut some sort of deal with Jacob to become "ageless"
I liked Jacob, his actor was such an ass on Dexter, the flashbacks were nifty.
Rose and Bernard retired
and vincent b:
I forget exactly what went down between Smokey, Eko, and Locke several seasons ago, but it would seem that Smokey tried to line up Eko to kill Jacob, he declined, so it iced him, and preyed upon Locke's fragile nature to convince him he had to die.
From other sites, the eye at the end is the same eye of Jack's used at the beginning of the series.
I think it would be hilarious if Frank turns out to be something other than a dumb pilot.

Dude, Frank may be a drunk, and a burnout, but dumb he ain't. Frank ****ing rules. "Crashed? What the hell kind of pilot do you think I am? I set her down safe and sound right over there." One of my favorite moments of the fourth season.
Also, I didn't mention it before, I really liked the resolution we got with Bernard and Rose. We almost certainly won't be seeing them again, and that's okay. They had a great last scene."My nation is the world, and my religion is to do good." --Thomas Paine

No, doubtful. Adam and Eve were significantly more decomposed than Bernard and Rose would be, even if they died right after The Incident. So said Jack anyway, I think he said the bodies had to be at least 50 years old.
It's possible it could be retconned as them, which would be okay. I've gotten less interested in that particular mystery as the show has gone on."My nation is the world, and my religion is to do good." --Thomas Paine

What was with the whole do you want some "tea" scene?Originally posted by Guynemer View PostDude, Frank may be a drunk, and a burnout, but dumb he ain't. Frank ****ing rules. "Crashed? And, Yes, Frank is awesome and a "candidate"
Supernatural entities can't transport?Yes, and the monster came out of a grate right in front of Ben rather than from the upper level where Fake Locke was. They aren't the same...Kids, you tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is, never try. -Homer

Basically, they were saying to Juliet, "You sure you want to go gallivanting around the jungle with these maniacs and get yourself killed?"Originally posted by flash9286 View PostWhat was with the whole do you want some "tea" scene?
Bernard and Rose
Drake: Well... yeah, I suppose it depends on how you define "supernatural". It is certainly not anything described in current scientific literature, though."My nation is the world, and my religion is to do good." --Thomas Paine

Yeah, what do you think that meant? He was a "candidate" for Blackshirt-in-disguise? "Candidate" for Smokey-bait? Or something less sinister and threatening to him (I fervently hope)?Originally posted by flash9286 View PostAnd, Yes, Frank is ... a "candidate""My nation is the world, and my religion is to do good." --Thomas Paine
