Since I have been in Singapore, I have moved 5 times, purposely to all corners of the island. Singapore is small, but I like my job; any longer than 5 years here will drive me depressed, so I must plan to make my next move.
Regards to your recession comment, yes, Singapore is in the ****ter, but my company pulls business internationally, and I am in heavy demand personally, so my job is pretty stable, I asked for a raise just yesterday, and the boss was willing. So, not all bad!
Wyoming sounds good, but the winter is unfortunate, what about Kansas? I don't mind the odd Tornado now and then.
Not to inject any realism into this thread, but you do know that you can't just move to the US and look for a job, right? Or rather, you can, but you'll be breaking a number of laws. You know that, right? So what's the plan?

Not to inject any realism into your realism, but entering the U.S. illegally and working doesn't really seem to be much of a problem.

Obviously. And its easy to do if he wants to work for 6 months or so or, alternatively, wants to settle here forever. But anywhere in between, and he risks future visa problems, which can be a drag.

Rufus, first I must be satisfied about where I want to move to, then I will work out all the other immigration issues. Immigrating to America shouldn't be as difficult as immigrating to Singapore, which was fairly easy.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Kansas City, MO is actually a very nice place to live. For nearly 12 years I lived in Leawood, KS, a suburb of the Missouri city, but on the Kansas side. Great place. The weather is temperate, with four distinct seasons.
Unfortunately, most of the rest of KS outside of KC is rather empty and dull... that has no bearing on KC, however.

It's much, much, much easier to immigrate to Singapore. Trust me.
