  • In any event it is great to see people are resorting to nit picking details rather then general themes. It's pretty much settled that tea bagging was a GOP astroturf group and not a spontanious grass roots up rising like the GOP claimed. DinoDoc has shut up about that because he knows it is the truth.

      • Oerdin, get real. You're such a partisan hack no one cares what you're talking about. You're just as trustworthy and relevant here as Rush Limbaugh.

        • Fine, spent thousands of hours.

To have spent "thousands" (ie. 2000 or more) of hours promoting the tea parties, Fox would've had to have devoted almost every single hour of air time since Obama was inaugurated to the endeavor. 3 thirty day months * 24 hours per day = 2,160 available hours. While your contention is at least mathematically possible now, I deem it to still be retarded.

Nice to know you think Fox News is fair an balanced. The fact is they are part of the GOP's propaganda arm.

Do you have any evidence of even that? You'll note that even two months of literally non-stop 24-hour, minus commercials, comes to ~1000 hours, not "thousands" plural. And even that's generous - though I'm no avid Fox viewer, from random surfing it was obvious that even the tea party story was relegated only to "segments" played one or a few times in the hourly loop typical of 24-hour networks, which would amount to less than 200 hours.

Then of course there's the absurd premise that it "cost" Fox anything to carry that story, when Drake already showed that it boosted their ratings, and ratings are the one and only measure of success or failure in their business. The people that tend to watch Fox already have their minds made up to begin with, so I fail to see how they "lose" any "manpower and opportunity costs" by reporting something that's already naturally appealing to their target demographic. It's not as if spending those few hundred hours reporting on kittens stuck in trees, shark attacks, and dogs biting men would have "earned" anything more. If the story didn't tank their ratings, then it was not a "cost" for the GOP in any sense, even supposing that FOX is a mere arm of the GOP to begin with, and don't get me started on that...

Deem all you want. They've spent just about every day since at least February pumping tea bagging. That has a real cost and virtually no one showed up for their tea bagging. That's a failure.

No it does not. You obviously have no idea what even the Webster's definition of "cost" is.

I don't like Fox News nor do I think it's fair or balanced. That's not to say it's a propaganda arm of the GOP nor does it mean they've dedicated tens of hundreds of thousands of millions of hours towards this tea party **** where they've spent around sixteen trillion dollars on it, like you assert.
