I don't think that can be topped. There aren't any more roads in Alaska.

    edit:
Looking at satellite photos it seems Google Maps is missing a lot of the roads in Alaska, so you can probably do better.

    Maybe...

In the meantime, I found a respectable one from Norway. Tromso to Kristiansand - 1,970 km, 29 hours. Could be longer, but any farther northeast and Google starts routing you through Sweden.

For Norway I got 2794 miles, 42 hours - with Google Maps you can drag the path to force it to stay in Norway.

Didn't know this; it's awesome. I can totally make the path follow the coast all the way down.

WTF. I tried to do Kaliningrad to Vladivostok and Google Maps can't find a path. It can't even get from Kaliningrad to Moscow.

WTF, Google just seems to think Russia is disconnected from the rest of Europe.

                  Weird.

edit: it can't give directions at all within Russia (except Kaliningrad...)

Using the coastal route, I got Vardo, Norway to Kristiansand up to 3,368km and 57 hours. Nothing but fjords the whole way; I actually want to make that drive.

Not true. I can get directions from Paris to Minsk.

I have to say that the terrain feature on Google Maps is amazing. It even shows tiny little lakes I remember from past hiking trips.

Ah, "America's salad bowl". I actually like the old downtown business district and the John Steinbeck museum but for the love of god couldn't they have given the town a better nick name?
