A town that if it were a city would be the 14th most populous city in the USA?

Please note that there are 56 municipalities in the United States that are more populous than Cardiff.

Heh, we don't make the distinction between towns and cities, what's it for anyway? Here it's either a village or a city. Any municipality of 25-30k inhabitants has a chance of being called a city but I've no idea what it depends on. Our country is one big city anyway.

I live in Antwerp, the global diamond & drug hub, but since I've only lived here since february I cant quite endorse it yet. Like it so far though.

Los Angeles -- probably the most cosmopolitan city in the world. Folks come here from all over: Poles, Vietnamese, Iranians, Nigerians, etc. We have Hollywood. We have a multitude of theme parks. We have more live theater seats than Broadway. :tougue: L.A. County has more people that 44 states. And we have really nice weather.

LA isn't even close to being the most cosmopolitan city in its own country.

LA may be the most cosmopolitan Mexican city, though.

What I like about my city is that it isn't a city. It's barely a hamlet, and I live on its far outskirts. Nine acres, baby, and dirt cheap.

                    Boston, MA:

Number 3 in the USA for Forbes lowest unemployment by city (1st - Madison, WI; 2nd - Washington, D.C.).

Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, and Revolution have all won major championships this decade - and the Bruins could take the Stanley Cup this year.

Huge industries - biotech, medicine, research, film

Transportation - Logan International Airport and the Amtrak Service to South Station mean that you can get anywhere, at any time

Redevelopment - Now that the Big Dig is done, Boston is using it's development spending in neighborhoods that sorely need it. South Boston, East Boston, the South End (specifically SoWa), and Mission Hill are all due/have built major residential and commercial areas, with three skyscrapers planned to be as big/bigger than the Empire State Building. Plus, 44 soon-to-be-developed acres of land to be built over the I-90 corridor.

Capital of not just one state, but the entire region of New England, encompassing some 20-30 Million people. And yes, that includes you Maineacs.

History - um, duh. If you need to ask what, when, how, or why, just look it up.

You can walk the entire city. But if your feet get tired, the MBTA is up to the task, with 4 subway lines, a dedicated bus line, over 400 buses to routes around Boston, Cambridge, and the rest of Eastern Mass, and a fantastic ferry to the Cape.

Diversity - Boston is one of the best cities in the country for the Blind. There are no "Projects" here - High, middle, and low-income housing is in each neighborhood.

I could go on, but you should just visit.

I think not. Well, not unless you want to send some tax revenue our way, at least. Until then, go learn to drive.

Good timing. I bet this office space will be almost as popular as the new World Trade Center.

The hijackers took off from Logan. They never came back. I think we're in the clear. And yes, Logan security still SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS.

But the tallest we want to build is Sears Tower height. And I'm pretty sure that's still standing...

Built next to one of the most polluted lakes in the US (http://www.upstatefreshwater.org/htm...daga_lake.html) , Syracuse is also usually referred to as Syberacuse for its unpleasant weather: we are usually the hands-down winners of the New York State Golden Snowball Award for the most annual snowfall (http://goldensnowball.com/). Economically speaking we have lost most of our manufacturing jobs over the last ten years, with one of the unions at the last auto plants recently voting twice to reject concessions which would have saved their jobs (http://newsfeedresearcher.com/data/a...ers-magna.html) .

However looking at the brightside we don't have all sorts of creatures that can annoy us/ potentially kill us (such as cockroaches, scorpions, centipedes, fire ants, poisonous snakes, pythons, gators, killer bees, etc.). And as far as the snow is concerned, we understand that when the weatherman says lay in supplies, why we lay in supplies and just don't bother going out till the snow event is over and the roads have been cleared. Oh yeah, the summers are very pleasant here: very nice!
