      Sucks.

      Asher, the Province has or is in the process of creating an asset management agency that will be looking after the HTF and pension funds. They will be looking for IT whiz kids. Experience with financials might be a leg up, assuming they are still looking.

      There was a piece about them in the Globe recently. You may have seen it.

        I applied yesterday, a friend of mine from Calgary gave me the heads up.

        I don't even mind that it's VB.Net in Edmonton.

              Sorry to hear it, Asher. At least you have a little warning. Make sure you've got everything of possible value, especially all contact information, d/l'd (or "Wiglaf'd") from your work comp. (I strongly suspect you're totally on top of this, but it needs to be said.) Keep us informed, and hang in there.

                Are you familiar with "Linked In"? I'm only now exploring it some. I'm assuming it's available in Canada. It's a networking site, hooking up with old workmates.
