Raccoons are dangerous and vicious animals.

My friends and I used to play with and pet the baby raccoons when we were living in the college dorms. We'd bring a bit of food out of the dinning hall and the baby raccoons (only a few month old) would be waiting for us outside the exit. They'd totally come running up to us, eat the food out of our hands, and let us pet them. Sure, those raccoons were semi-tame and that's different from a full grown wild raccoon but if you socialize them young they can make fun pets.

Wiki says they are native to North America (Panama to Canada) but through accidental release or deliberate introduction they are now established in several parts of Europe and Asia.
