Yeah, and his father is also the kids father. I think all of that is a result of the writers not knowing the ending and just making extra connections in case they're needed. I suspect they'll let that one whither on the vine, but I could be wrong. Now I might buy getting claire there to get the baby there, and back I guess, but we'll see.

Agreed, but wondering when that connection was actually written, before or after that point. Having claire seperated from the group still tends to support after. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

Locke unable to shoot Widmore as he escapes--Locke says it is because he's one of his people, but we know that it is because the past can't be changed.
A thing that bothered me was that when Locke talked to Richard it affected the "present timeline", what I mean is it presumably caused Richard to go visit John and present him with the compass and other things. But when Daniel Faraday talked to Desmond when they were time jumping it didn't affect the "present timeline" because Desmond would have recognized Daniel but he didn't. Is this because Desmond is special or Richard?Kids, you tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is, never try. -Homer

Nothing stops Locke from affecting the time-line. He's not able to change it though. Since Richard already came to visit him in the regular time-line, it's all legit.
In contrast, note that he couldn't kill Widmore.John Brown did nothing wrong.

That French connection I liked a lot. I think this season is using a great method to answer so many questions about the island's history.
Jin surviving annoyed me, partly because that was a pretty huge explosion, and partly because a friend of mine bet me that he wasn't dead.
I think it would be tight to see a Lost themed Civ (maybe Col?) scenario that really took advantage of all that sort of history and phenomena to set the mood. Set up a camp and explore a mysterious island with all this crazy **** going on. I wouldn't want to see an attempt to recreate Lost, but something with that sense of adventure would be sweet. FFH II is probably the closest thing I can think of right now, and I think I just got inspired to start a game up.John Brown did nothing wrong.

Time jumping can affect things that happened in the past, but unless you already did change events in the past you can't change them on the trips. That's why Sawyer couldn't jump out and say anything to Kate. Basically the only thing that can't be changed in time travel is the stuff that's been established in previous episodes.John Brown did nothing wrong.

Desmond may exist on an alternate timeline than Locke. His consciousness is apparently different than other peoples since he turned the key on the fail safe in the hatch, temporarily sending him back to 1996 and giving him clairvoyant abilities. That, or it may he may have just forgotton due to being alone for so long.
