    Chill or be chilled.
The person who needs to chill here is you. Honest to God. You deleted a ton of fun posts that harmed no one in a couple threads now and are slapping your **** around trying to antagonize me while ORDERING me to chill. What the ****, Ming. Go take a few minutes and chill.

Number 1,you can't smoke in an elevator. At least not here.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

I was a non-smoker for a long time and I never minded the smell in bars either. Some people are just natural born whiners.

                after they smoke, Sloww.

At my building at work, a lot of people go up to the rooftop to smoke so they take the elevator constantly. And when someone stands next to you after they've smoked, they may as well be smoking right in the damn elevator for the duration of that journey...

Wait, aren't you the Quebecois separatist?

The fact that you didn't mind the smoke for years and then, presumably when you're older and wiser, decided to smoke when you know what it does to your body...that says more about you than the people who are upset they have to pay your health bills on top of dealing with the fact that you smell worse than 5 year old dickcheese.

                    Oooooooh. After. Ok. My mistake.

I remember the old days. Smoke in movie theaters. Smoke at work. Those were the days.
That's the problem now. You don't smell it enough, so it bothers you.
If you worked on a sheep ranch, you'd probably get used to the smell of sheep**** and not even notice it.

Fortunately, I don't work on a ranch so I don't have to smell sheep****.

I don't want to ban smoking or whatever, but some people just have no courtesy. The *******s who smoke in the middle of a busy streetcar stop, for instance.

And I don't know what else to do about this situation -- people should be able to smoke in their own homes, it's legal...but just not when it's a public building with interconnected ventilation.

What they need to do is have some "smoker's apartments" and "non-smoking" apartments. We could put the smoking apartments in the ****ty, smelly areas of town since they don't care about the smell anyway..then we can label them whiners if they get upset by it.

I have to say, in all seriousness, I recognize the sensitivity of others. I try to not impose more than necessary. Like at the Legion, talking to a non-smoker, move the ash tray to the other side of me. Don't blow smoke at them.
There's this one woman I know, though. Trying to quit. I'm going to pin her down and blow smoke in her face, just for meanness.

                            I'm all for this idea.

Unfortunately the rent in the gay village areas are astronomical, because they are so nice. The gays fix up every place of town that the prices go through the roof.

Right now I'm living next to all these straight ****ers. It's awful. When they're not hooting and hollering about hip-hop and R&B, they're smoking cigarettes and walking their 500 pound dogs they take in the elevator.

What I wouldn't give to live in an apartment building of only 20-something gay professionals...

                            One can dream...
