I guess I reached a point where desperation and loneliness reached a point where it overtook my shyness. Problem is desperation isn't an attractive quality.

Well, that's true but only to a certain degree. Desperation is still better than shyness, because if you're desperate, you're still asking.

If you're shy, you're not asking. And what is it they say about basketball? You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

So desperation is just a temporary catalyst here. What you're really gaining is the realization that you can ask a girl out and it's not the end of the world if she says no. Rather, you've gained clarity and it's time to move on to the next.

This'll turn into confidence real quick if it hasn't already done so - and confidence is a huge turn-on.

So go forth and get out of your rut and into a lucky girl's rut as soon as you can!
