For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

What information have they withheld? The internal investigation was released as soon as they were allowed to do so, since Fitz asked them to delay releasing it because of his investigation. Obama has answered questions in press conferences, presumably as well as Emanuel would have been able to answer them. So what's the beef here?

Back to Rod and his buddies.
The question is should Rolland Burris be allowed to serve as the junior senator from Illinois.
IMO, even though I hate ROD and think he is corrupt as they get.
1. He still hasn't been convicted of anything. (USA and all that stuff, inocent till proven guilty)
2. The Secretary of state has no authority to reject a valid nomination from the GOV.
3. If he hasn't been convicted I see no real right of the senate to not accept a valid nomination.
4. Burris is a very respected politician that hasn't been caught with his hand in the cookie jar and is a good replacement for Obama.
So despite my anger, it is my belief that Burris is the new junior senator from Illinois.
Comments. (it should be a fun show to watch)
I loved the comparisions to MR. Deeds goes to Washington. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

You forgot 5. The opposite decision would boot the only African-American Senator. "High-tech lynching" anyone?

I figured I'd leave that one off because since the talked about list of replacement was full of African-Americans for just that reason. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

I think the problem is that nobody else has voted in an african-american senator, not that this particular senate seat needs to be filled by one. Suggesting otherwise is pandering, and insulting to African-Americans by implying there could only be an african-american senator by an appointment.
In general, I think that they should probably confirm the appointment; it's just not worth the trouble this is going to cause to fight it. But I also understand the concern and why they don't want to.<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

I also can understand why they don't want to but do they have a legal leg to stand on is the question? I don't think so. Fighting it will be futile in the long run, unless they can keep it up long enough to get a legal conviction or impeachement of Rod and even then there will be the question that appointment was made prior to the conviction.
And call it what you want, if this is done by appointment, the replacement will be African-American.It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

But I don't see how 2 weeks ago makes a difference, since we knew then (it had already been mentioned before) that Fitzgerald prevented an earlier release.Tutto nel mondo è burla
