    I wouldn't count on it.

It would disadvantage both the Liberals and PQ. They're not doing it.

The latest poll from the Gazette said 46% Liberal IIRC. It also showed that the PQ trailed the Libs in francophone vote. Both predictions turned out to be wrong.

There could have been other polls I didn't see.

      • Very true, I spoke to J.P. Charbonneau; about how on several occasions, when they were ready to implement it, the ministry council refused.

The same for redrawing the circumscription map.

But we have our plan.... seriously

        • What is it?

There is no way you can petition the government for a referendum.

You would need a riot. But fiscal conservatives do not riot.

          • I'm also delighted that Amir Kahdir got elected. I'm sure we can count on him to stir up some ****.

Not that I would want QS in government, though. I just like the idea of them having a voice in Parliament.

            • Q&A with Rae

Justin Tetreault from Toronto: At the 2006 Leadership Convention in Montreal, delegates debated the leadership selection process and rejected a One Member One Vote system, in favour of keeping our traditional leadership convention process and intrenching it in the party's constitution. Isn't your proposal of a hybrid phone/e-mail vote against the party's constitution? If your concern is listening to the grassroots of the party, what about the grassroots of the party who chose our leadership process in 2006?

Bob Rae: I guess I just think a more inclusive approach is better.

Constitutions are mere suggestions. Bob just knows better.

              Just wow

At least it's a small step.

                    • To pitch in on the Quebec election theme, how much of the result is a consequence of the Harper-Dion idiocy in Ottawa?

                      • I just watched poll tracking from Léger Marketing and Dion-Harper power orgy didn't change anything on poll.

Wasn't Charest trending towards a larger majority? How much did PQ support rise in the last 10 days?

I don't need to tell you that there is a difference between the number of seat you won and the proportion of votes. (Edited: In 1998 PLQ lose even if their were having more votes count)

While the PQ votes didn't really moved, there was some movement between the ADQ and PLQ. I think people thought ADQ would lose even more seat. Specially in the region of Quebec City.

The goal is not to win the election (there is no possible way it will happen). The goal is to have a vehicle which will put pressure on government and political party in order to make it happen.
