On a side note, CBC has called it a majority Liberal government in today's Quebec provincial election earlier tonight, but it's still really close. As it stands now: (elected or leading)
Liberals - 63
PQ - 54
ADQ - 7
QS - 1
Any chance it ends up hung?(\__/)

On a side note M. Dumont resigned as the chief of the ADQ. I would like to be the chief of the ADQ, maybe in 10 years, when I would have some professional experience. If I were the chief, right now, I would build from the ground this party.
I have several friends highly educated, which are economically leaning to the right and socially more libertarian (for the Quebec right-left spectrum). And we don't have any party to vote. The ADQ took the populist way a little too much for our own taste.Last edited by CrONoS; December 9, 2008, 00:08.bleh

At some point the Libs went as low as 61 (that would have been a minority). That was close!
In any case, Marois' leadership comes strengthened. Polls predicted a disaster, and it turned out she got a solid opposition."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Not in a British parliamentary system.
Your only hope: work on creating the République du Québec. When it's done, we can have a proportional system, and folks like you will get their party with 15-20%.
Personally, I'm not a big fan of the PQ at all. But since I'm a separatist, I STFU in the meantime and vote for them.In Soviet Russia, Fake borises YOU.

Why would a separatist in Quebec post on English-language forums?
I thought Quebec separatists were French-language snobs who were upset on how everyone else's attacking their French culture. It doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to hang out here if you have those beliefs."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Should have resisted the temptation to click Asher's post.
Re what you said, polls suggested a PQ debacle and roughly 100 Liberal seats. It turned out 66-51. It's an honorable defeat. The PQ was not ready for an election, had no money (began the campaign in debt). Charest had like IIRC 10m$ in the bank.
And I'm not spinning this into anything pseudo-positive, I'm just saying Marois' leadership will be just fine. Which is not necessarily a good thing. There are better heads at the PQ.In Soviet Russia, Fake borises YOU.
