And clearly he likes drinking in ****holes. That whole "authetic" crap probably. I have had some interesting times in that bar, but I prefer mine less dingy, I don't need the bartenders to be dressed like ho's, and I like to drink alongside guys with teeth.

I put "authentic" in quotes for a reason. Any bar is "authentic," it depends on what kind of scene excites you. You can find any scene in NYC, which is part of that excitement. I can name at least two other places within quick walking distance of that bar with very different feels, and yet both are fine for a cheap drinkn as well.

New York City lost big in 2008 and Chicago was there to scoop up most of the spoils. The NYC economy is in the toilet due to the financial crisis. The Dem candidate from New York got beat by the Dem candidate from Chicago. Chicago even took Gotham City away from New York. NYC will bounce back and there are still jobs in the financial industry for well qualified candidates. In fact one of my friends just got a job there two months ago though that was more of a calculated move on his part. He's taking a year off from Harvard's MBA program thinking that with an extra year of experience he might be able to jump right into venture capital once he does finish his last year of b-school. Normally you have to have at least 5 years experience to do that.
