Worst retail #s since 1969. DOW down over 300 again so far today. So, how ****ed are we? What happens next? Is there any hope for the system we grew up in?

Edit: Make that down over 400 now.



I'm not as ready for this as I would like to be, need a couple more years. Can I have them?

I let you know when it hits bottom. I'm think 6000 or 6500. Also, don't most of the ARMs adjust beginning of next year anyway? I know the predictions was for it to START the end of this year and not stop until midway through next year.

Heard a retail sector advisor predict 10% unemployement by this time next year. The retail sector is past the consolidation phase, anybody who has problems now is done. He called for significant contraction all sectors except for the budget retailers; Walmart, "dolar" stores.

The dow hasn't even retested the low yet. Now when it breaks decisively below 7200 then panic.

Next spring is not going to be a good time to look for jobs. That much is certain.

Also, how the stock market is doing doesn't mean much about how the economy is doing. At some point the stock market will rebound, but we'll still be ****ed.
