If only it were so easy to get rid of all libtards.

Of course, now I don't get to press the point of why on earth he would think Joe the Plumber is evading his state taxes out of some noble act of civil disobedience and not just shirking his responsibilities out of greed.

Eddie the Electrician just phoned in, telling how he voted. Obama is toast, literally. The Union endorsed McCain.

I am always amazed at all the people who are willing to sacrifice so that the wealthy can have more.

Who really makes the wealthy, wealthy? Every dime you spend casts a vote on the cost and where it was made.
You control who makes the dollar.

The wealthy get more benefit for this nation than the poor. Every time we drop the taxes of the wealthy more than we drop the taxes of the poor, we move more and more in the wealthies favor.

Now I agree that America doesn't want to shift it until it is equal. However, for most of the last 70ish years the system was a bit more weighted in favor of the poor than it is now.

And despite this, the poor want to continue to weight it more heavily in favor of the rich. In some cases because they think they will be rich in the future. But I have a PhD (soon), and PhDs make on average 50% more than BA/BS holders, and I don't expect to ever be rich.

You can't become rich purely through hardwork and deligence. And yeah, I am defining rich as an income greater than 250k per year.

                    We need a flat tax.

I could maybe get behind a flat tax of the sort: (idea A)

first 40k people pay nothing on
                      after 40k, people pay a flat 30%

I think that this is weighted a bit against the middle class. But at least it isn't weighted against the poor.

Now if you mean flat tax: (idea B)

                      everyones pays 25%

Than that is a terrible idea, and is completely screwing over the poor. I can even get liberterrian sympathizers to agree that A is better than B.

I mean more A, but it would cut in some higher, with another higher level.

"all individuals are good and all governments evil" , as if gov officers
                              are not individuals.
                              Funny.
But I must say I never had seen so extreme example: the same kind
of action (dishonest behaviour) is bad if done by the Gov, but good
                              if performed by an individual.
                              Best regards,

A flat tax would be fine if the highest earners and corporations didn't have so many tax dodges and loopholes.

We'd actually generate more tax revenue than now.

Of course the main promoters of the flat tax aren't interested in ending the dodges/loopholes. They just want to shift more of the burden onto the poor.

And to halflotus, anyone who pops in to promote a book/website/whatever and sez that merely reading it will change our view on life/economics/religion/etc. radically so we now can see the TRUTH! deserves to be mocked. This isn't a forum full of starry-eyed pups.
