Not quite went under, but started foundering, and needed to throw folks overboard.

      Rational people don't become Christians.

Dude, when I'm employed, I make at least $200 a day, and that's on the low end of my pay scale.

I do have an interview tomorrow. The pay is in my range, the bennies are good. The only downside is that it is further away than my last job, so I'll potentially be commuting 4 hours a day instead of three. I'll need to get a laptop and play Civ.

But in short time, one could take a slightly lesser scale to get by until something better comes along, this was my point

Like you said you "normally" make that wage, the way the economy is, I wish you the best of sucess

These are, however, not "normal" times

I looked up the address, and, if it's correct, I can take express/tollways most of the way, and likely shave off half my commute. I just hate driving over taking public transportation.

Why don't you just work as a temp if you make that much money. Then you don't have to put up with the boses bull**** everyday.

I get health care in order to put up with the bosses' BS.

I understand that, but I don't think I could deal with a one-way commute longer than 30 minutes--especially if I have to be paying attention to the road, instead of reading.

I certainly hope they pay well.

That is a seriously long commute. Ick. Even 1 hour (one way) sounds terrible to me. I did a 1 3/4 hour one way commute for a summer internship and it was awful. And that was mostly on commuter rail.

Better than not having a job, though. Best of luck, Che.

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.

That sucks, man. Would the 4 hours at least be on a train?

                        Anyways, good luck, che.

Chegitz, members of Congress get benefits from the government. And as far as that goes, you'd at least not be a hypocrite like the rest.

20 hours a week commuting though - that's a bit much. You could probably get a second place for the money you make. A nice little thatch hut on the beach perhaps.

Okay, the location isn't where I thought it was, but it's close. Same situation applies. It's about 20 minutes further from my old job in Miami by train, probably faster by car. I guess I'm driving. Maybe I can car pool with someone.
