Everything was cool. I stashed away enough cash to pay my rent through the end of the year. Unemployment was enough to pay all my bills and eat, and the wife is getting unemployment also. So, it's all good, right?
Well, I worked a day at the beginning of October. Made $200. Not bad for a day's work. I reported it dutifully to Unemployment, and they should have taken $159 out of my weekly check of $275 (the first $41 are ignored by the state). But a week later, my unemployment still hasn't arrived. And the check cut for my work had the wrong name on it. I was supposed to pick it up Friday, but the payroll person was sick, and she mailed it out this morning. So now I have to wait a couple days. To top it off, my cell phone is out because the bill wasn't paid (it's my mother-in-law's family plan).
I'm not hurting. I don't need any money. I just need to vent. I still have November and December's rent safe, and I'm leaving it where it is rather than use it for this little stuff. It's just ****ing annoying, cuz I didn't do anything wrong.
And I'm waiting for a phone call from a recruiter about a possible job.
