The former being overwhelmingly white, I reckon.

The reason I'm not voting has nothing to do with skin color.
I will not vote for a Muslim.
I will not vote for a person who's place of birth is in question.
I will not vote for a person who has no understanding of economics.
I will not vote for a person who hangs out with terrorist.
      So on and so on...
Skin color is not the reason I do not support the Democrat nominee.

      BTW
I just posed a question for discussion.
      Obama's not a Muslim.
      Obama's birthplace isn't in question.
Obama's understanding of economics is far greater than McCain's.
Obama doesn't hang around with terrorists.

Most of those arguments are horrifyingly ignorant canards; the problem is that most people don't actually try to learn the truth of the matter. Indeed, many of them, when confronted with actual facts, often discard those facts because the contradiction only strengthens their conviction that what they know must be right.

It's a shame, really, that closed-mindedness and anti-intellectualism permeates this country to a noxious degree.

Most the people I know of in RL who are voting for McCain think similarly.

"sane" and "Texan" don't go together.

At least, unless by "Texan" you mean, "That's where I was born, but I no longer live there, thank [deity]"

Think twice before arguing with bigots about whether or not people are the people they hate, or you might look like a bigot yourself.
