I think its unAmerican to lift a candidate or sitting president to levels of worship. (Now, you sing about the Jets or the Mets, thats a-ok)

I think you would find it disturbing if songs were being sung about GW, or Reagan, as would I.

I would say more, but alas I must leave for work

I take it that you think it's more american to threaten a candidates life.

They have every right to like Obama as much as their little hearts desire. That IS the american way.

No, it was a rally taking place during the debate. Had the Democrats held a similar rally, there is not a single doubt in my mind that people would have rounded booed and/or laughed at Palin. That's the way true believers are on both sides of the aisle.

I was talking about the link that Jrabbit posted of the VP debate.

Oh, it's the second video. I should have made that clear.

Wrong again. You mean the third video, which is the one that deals with the VP debate and the rally that took place during it. The first two videos are of the Palin and McCain rallies in past couple days that have had the odious audience participation.

Wow, booing and laughing..how horrific, how uncivilized.....

Sorry, but there is a qualititive difference between booing and calling your opponent a terrorist, or shouting out "kill him." Can you find any video of a Democratic rally sinking to those levels?

Vesayen claimed that McCain supported those statements. He did NO such thing. A couple of nuts shouting at a political rally do not cause me much concern, especially given how many times various other American politicans have been called terrorists right here on Poly.

EDIT: Vesayen made the claim, not Kid as initially posted.

Sorry, but you trying to equate the venom at Republican rallies with Democratic rallies is a load of BS.

How come that "couple of nuts" don't turn out to Democratic rallies? More importantly, I saw the crowd reaction to that statement. McCain certainly didn't "support" the statement, but the crowd surely approved, given the laughter the statement brought on. And that is to say nothing of the Palin rallies.

I think it's like what you see in this thread. McCain would never say, "Kill Obama!" But at the same time he doesn't care if one of his supporters says it at his rally.

Well, Kid was speaking specifically about the video of Palin supporters booing and laughing at Biden during the debate, and not the rallies with the "nuts." That sort of thing (booing) certainly does happen on both sides.

This sort of blind partisanship serves no one.

Moreover, an n of two does not a statistically significant sample make.

For some reason when I opened the link all the videos started playing at once. The first two finished and I only heard the last part of the third video.

But I would never think for a second that that could happen if I didn't watch the RNC.
