  • The problem right now is that the Democrats and Republicans aren't sharing in the blame.
    Fixed.
That may be the most moronic thing I've heard recently. McCain has gone from up almost 2 points to down 8 points since the financial crisis kicked into high gear. No sane person would say the Republicans aren't taking the blame on this.

...because it's negatively affecting the party you support.
I've never voted for a Republican presidential candidate. I think it's unfair because I actually understand the financial crisis and know that the Democrats are just a culpable in it as the Republicans, if not more so.

No, that is the most moronic thing said even not-so-recently. The repugs are going out of their collective way to blame the dems soley for this mess. Get a clue.

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

Yeah, the party with the lesser powers since 2001 is more reponsible than the party with greater powers....right....

          • Explain to us how the GOP caused the financial crisis then, GePap. Go ahead. Let's see if you can offer more than a vague reference to "deregulation." Obama sure can't...

            • People got greedy as they always do, but unlike before, there were less things to make people accountable for their greed, and less rules to force people to acknowledge the risks they were taking. Neither party caused the crisis, but one party clearly celebrated and cheered on the greed driving the crisis more than the other. And now they are rightly paying the price.

It's essentially what you were trying to say, just your partisanship got in the way.

Or are you saying D's and R's shouldn't share the blame for this mess?

                    • I blame the American people for electing the republicans and democrats.

Sorry, but I really don't need you to rephrase my statements.

Well thanks for the laughs when you called the rephrase of your own statement, "...the most moronic thing I've heard recently".

Though you chose the wrong statement, since that was one where you actually were right. Most of your other statements would qualify much better

That wasn't my statement. I understand that you have trouble detecting nuance, but it really wasn't the same as what you said.

You really are stupid. Absolutely no lateral thinking ability whatsoever.

"Sharing the blame" can mean for 2 (or more) parties to have a piece of the blame. It can also mean for someone to admit they (or their affiliation) are part of the problem instead of placing all the blame on others.

When you say the problem is Democrats aren't "sharing the blame", you satisfy one of the above, in a somewhat partisan manner which focuses on D's alone. When I fixed it for you, it satisfied both of the above, and does so in a non-partisan manner. Which is why it is a fix.

Because it's true that D's aren't getting their share of the blame (at least from some people). But it's also true that neither R's or D's are accepting their part of the blame, instead (for the most part) simply claiming that the other side was at fault and ignoring their own faults. (And I'd add, even the R's aren't getting their full level of blame from everyone. That's very clear where I live, and most rural areas... where R's are seen as God's way of protecting freedom and the American way or some **** like that.)

My fix of your statement > your statement.
