Chinese stocks are starting to become interesting again. FXI, the exchange-traded fund in which I invest, consists of 25 Chinese large blue chip companies trading in Hong Kong.

With the recent falls in FXI, it is trading at a P/E of roughly 11. One of the biggest considerations is the price of oil, since several of the largest constituent companies in the fund are energy companies.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

October must be the month that has had the most and the biggest stockmarket falls through history.

I've heard it mooted before, but it's living up to reputation.

            I'm Apolyton's Village Idiot.

What exactly are Solar Panel Tools?

Because I'm thinking of hammer and nails kind of thing here. But i'm sure it's more like manufacturing plants where robots do all the work and humans hang around pretending to be needed. In which case, I don't think that can be classified as tools.

            Hence why I am confuzzled.

                Location, South Croydon?

I think Kent County Council should have first dibs. They are owed £50 million by Iceland.

Anyway, these values are starting to become compelling in the broader market. I might get in to the broader market today.

In solar, these are a series of machine tools that combine into a complete automated manufacturing line.

Today I moved all of my cash into broad market funds.

I figured this was close to the floor. Wouldn't be surprised to see further declines of 10-15%, however.

                          What's 10-15% between friends?

All? You don't keep a buffer of cash savings, maybe a couple of months of pay equivalent?

To be clear, I moved all of my investable money (sitting in a money market fund in my retirement account) into broad-market stock funds.

Faith in the marketplace, it's admirable but perhaps a bit stupid.
