I would do a world wide advertising campaign, telling people they would randomly be mailed boxes with a recognizable logo on it, filled with cash.

I would then fill 1/3rd of the boxes with killer bees.

Edit: I can do better. The boxes with the bees will also have a webcam with a satelite uplink which puts peoples reactions to suprisepwnbybees.com.

It is just a big earth works project and then some construction, it can't be that much..... one source I just read said 12.3 billion USD.

I would spend $200m buying myself four homes, eight cars (one small/sporty one large/Suburban type per home), and associated crap for those homes. They'd be scattered about, two in the US (midwest and florida), one in Australia, one in Europe somewhere.

Then I'd buy a small African country with ~$100bn, somewhere with some natural resources and reasonable access to transportation.

Then I'd spend $500m on a small army to defend it with.

Then I'd spend $100bn building from scratch an entire industrial base. Plants, educational system to give me workers to work at the plants, etc.

Then I'd put the rest of the money in long-term safe investments (ie, gold).

(Except for the $200m payment to Iran for a nuclear warhead. For defensive purposes, of course.)

Then I'd sit back, relax, and run a small website dedicated to players of a TBS game.

Oh, and I'd buy out Firaxis. And EA, or at least the rights to SMAC.
