  • Is The New Facebook An Interface Disaster?

I don't use Facebook but I have an account and routinely check my messages and browse it. My question is, what the hell has happened? Has Steve Jobs' cancer somehow spread to Mark Zuckerberg's brain? This looks worse than Martha Stewart's face. I'm thinking of throwing my computer out of the window and hitting one of the poor people who I can hear begging for money four stories up.

No, it's actually a better UI. It's just different. Some people have less capacity for change than others (think repubs)

It is a total ****ing cluster**** orgy dick suck fest. Is there a good reason wall posts are now combined with the minifeed? This is like combining Taco Bell with Pizza Hut in those cheap gas stations.

        Why not?

I prefer it because I can drill down into specific types of events. It's much more powerful.

The problem is not particularly that this is a bad interface. It's that it's about the 542nd interface change of the last two years.

Not sure it's a problem, given the explosive growth both in terms of user base and functionality.

How much of the functionality is actually popular, though?

It was fine the way it was, honestly. It's not 'much more powerful'. You could do all this before. And now it even makes less sense (why are videos below the user photo, but photos get their own tab?). Also looks ugly. Too much white space on the main profile page.

No you couldn't do it all before, the Boxes are all new for instance. Ditto the Live Feed. And a ****load of other stuff I can't recall right now.

Do your homework and come back in one hour, Wiggy.

Boxes? All I see are a place to put your ****ty annoying as **** applications. And Livefeed looks like the news feed. Yay.

This is becoming like Myspace. Supposed to keep it simple.

I find it distressing that you find Facebook complicated.

It's more ugly and unnecessary and bloated than complicated.

I don't find it ugly or bloaty. I find it interesting you are a proponent of Flash websites but consider flash bloaty.

Stick to talking about sex with ugly women, it's what your good at.
