I would make make the header image on the homepage a LOT bigger

I would get rid of the Comic Sans font (it's not 1997 any more).

And did you check how your site looks in other browsers besides Internet Explorer?

I'm not familiar with the Yahoo site-building thingy but there are some real strange (and superflous) things in there.

But I hope your business really takes off. Too bad I live half a world away so I will never get the chance to taste your pies

ok so yeah, I totally changed the website. Now see if you think it's better. I like this more. It's more in keeping with an old time feel.

and some of the pictures of me in the apron tooting my horn about winning are coming down, they are just filler right now. I will leave at least two up on the site though. I think it's ok to toot a little.

All you have is imagination just wait until this afternoon. Mom's recipe calls for you to mash the cookie down with a glass coated in sugar so they wind up coming out of the oven slightly thin with this little brown crust around the edge. Man! Dad and I used to make ourselves sick eating them.

She'd make them ahead of time around Christmas and put them in the freezer and mark them Spinach or Squash. But we got wise and would sneek in and eat them then when she would go to get them and realize what we had done you usually heard from the garage......GEORGE EMMETT!!!!! MARY JAYNE!!!!

We'd usually split up and hide at that point till she cooled off.

Try using Moonfruit to build a site. It's flash but whatever. Lots more customizable, better looking and easier to sell products. And it has a gay name so people sort of respect it.

Yes. Whether it is better than your current site depends on the amount of effort you feel like putting into it. Might want to check out the free trial.

The reason I recommend it is that I looked at your site and I see images that are out of line with text, too big, etc. The flash editor that moonfruit has would let you drag and drop them and dynamically resize them, which yahoo's editor can't do. It's a WYSIWYG (or whatever) editor that runs in the browser, so you don't need to download anything.

I can't think of a reason to prefer a yahoo template to anything moonfruit is capable of. Like it or not, people will be more impressed if a small baking store doesn't use a yahoo template. The real trade off is that it will take a lot more time to design a decent site with it, which the thread starter would probably rather spend cooking stupendous confections.

Very few professional websites are made in Flash like the one you linked to. The ones that are are poorly done.
