Metallica is a part of world culture.
The music is above nationalities or borders.

As a person who just came back from the dead, you should love the "suicide and redemption" too.

(Yeah, I know its instrumental, but it sounds just great, almost as good as Orion).

As a fan of both stealing music and Metallica, I just can't care about the Napster thing. In fact, if Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield held a press conference to admit that they were, in fact, cannibalistic baby-eaters, I still wouldn't give a damn. The individuals that make up Metallica are not important to me, only the music is; and the music is damned good.

            ...

Got a copy of Death Magnetic about a week ago. It's good ****. Favorite songs are The Day That Never Comes, All Nightmare Long, and The Unforgiven III. The weakest songs, imo, are Broken, Beat & Scarred, Cyanide, and My Apocalypse.

While the music is as good as I expect from Metallica, the lyrics just ain't what they used to be. There are a few gems, though.

S&M was their only good album.

Go to DMC! Go to DMC! Go to DMC!
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Just been playing my version of Unforgiven III on the piano; it's surprisingly easy to turn the classic Metallica tracks into pretty decent-sounding piano pieces. Awesome return to form considering that I thought St Anger would be the last we ever heard from them

I put Metallica into the same league with Tchaikovsky and Beethoven. Very different, but still - a real music.

                                Only one I actually purchased.

Haven't heard much of the new one as I can't be bothered to 'obtain' it, and the few song(s?) on the radio haven't really impressed me.
