I actually hadn't read your subsequent posts. You're the one imagining things.

The list of published books grows. If you're curious to see what sort of stories I weave out, head to Amazon.com and do an author search for "Christopher Hartpence." Help support Candle'Bre, a game created by gamers FOR gamers. All proceeds from my published works go directly to the project.

Does the the fact that the 3rd quarter was the worst in almost 30 years hurt McCain's chances?

I think we all have this backwards.

Everything didn't really go into the tank until it became obvious that Obama was going to win and for the first time in a while we were going to have a DEM pres with a Dem majority in both houses. This just scares the bejesus out of everyone and that's what started the selloff. So now we know who's really to blame for the financial crisis.

Greg Mankiw imputed that Ben Bernanke caused the crisis in order to sell more copies of his book on financial crises.

Mankiw and Bernanke have competing macro texts, however, so Mankiw has an obvious incentive to slander Bernanke.

I like Mankiw's text better, for what it's worth.

Mankiw's a douche, but is very smart. And he can sometimes be very intellectually dishonest (though he is usually not).

Yeah, I can see that. His blog is awfully glib.

The econ blogs I read every day are:

                                Worthwhile Canadian Initiative (Can econ)
                                Stumbling and Mumbling (Brit econ)
                                Mankiw
                                Delong
                                Marginal Revolution

Mankiw and worthwhile are the most conventional econ types. Delong has big ideas, but they are occasionally not well formulated. Marginal is good, though Tyler is occasionally too self-satisfied. Stumbling is the most creative of the lot.
