    NIST to Release Report and Recommendations from Investigation of World Trade Center Building 7
    *** Agency Will Hold Public Webcast on August 21 ***

    Gaithersburg, Md. -- The Commerce Department's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will hold a media briefing and live public webcast on Aug. 21, 2008, in Gaithersburg, Md., on the findings and recommendations from its building and fire safety investigation of the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7 (WTC 7). WTC 7 was a 47-story building that fell nearly seven hours after the World Trade Center (WTC) towers collapsed following the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

    The NIST WTC 7 report will present the probable collapse sequence for the building and will provide recommendations for improving building and fire safety in other buildings similar to WTC 7. The draft WTC 7 investigation report released at the briefing will be open for public comment through noon Eastern Daylight Time on Sept. 15, 2008.

    Shyam Sunder, director of the NIST Building and Fire Research Laboratory and lead investigator for the federal building and fire safety investigation of the World Trade Center disaster, will present the report and answer questions from reporters at the briefing. The public will be able to view the briefing through a live webcast that will be accessible from NIST's WTC Web site at http://wtc.nist.gov

    Can't wait to see wich conspiracy theory are the right and if it's FBI, NSA, CIA or one of the unknown agencies that are responsible.

    Though, I'm afraid that they once again will try to cover the real truth behind some engineering babble

        Can't we all agree on a moderate viewpoint?
        The planes were piloted by real terrorists, but the government triggered the controlled demolition of the WTC to prevent it from falling apart and damaging nearby skyscrapers.

            No problem - just one small point - it takes something like 2-3 weeks to prepare a controlled demolition of such a building.
            With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

                    If that were the case, said feature has been an unbelievably well-kept secret. I'd expect, at the very least, some locals to know about it. No true New Yorker would pass up such a chance to crow constantly about how they're so tough they go to work every day in buildings wired to implode, and don't think twice about it.

                        Got the number from a demolition expert on the danish engineer union site, so I think it's pretty reliable - though, that was planting the explosives - the overall prepararation of the building for demolition could though easily take months (removing asbestos and other things you don't want in the debrees).

                          What ever happened to that nutjob homeless guy who kept kept screaming his head off about police brutality? As I recall he used to routinely rave that police were murders because some crack addict in his town went after the cops with a knife and then the cops shot him. He'd also complained that the state didn't give him enough welfare though he had loads of time to post on the net when he should have been looking for a job.

                          As I recall he was a big supporter of the idea that the CIA blew up the WTC.

                            Well, if so, lets hope that no terrorists hear about it - why bother hijacking airplanes etc when all you need is to find the right button to push

                              Keep in mind that they would have had to do this secretly, so that no one ever found out.
