I may watch this one a bit more than previous ones. Unfortunately, I fear the end result of these games will just further polarize China and the "West" against eachother.

Seeing how things have gone so far, I'd say that China isn't ready to host the Games, and the rest of the world isn't ready for China to host the Games either.

People are saying that the pollution and low air quality will detrimentally effect performance in some of the events, especially endurance ones like the marathon. China is not a good site.

OTOH, the air will be much cleaner than the locals are accustomed to. I wonder if after the event sare over, the locals raise cain if city officials let pollution levels rise again to what they were.

So far the air isn't any cleaner. China's kicked up the antipollution measures yet again to "emergency" levels now to see if that works.

I didn't check for a long time, troll boy. I noticed I can live perfectly well without TV, and that has nothing to do with my eyesight.

                        I don't have telly.

Only sports thing i admit to have watched of my own free will is the last round of hockey world championship '95.

Sticking sharp sticks under my nails is so much more fun than sports.
