          Thanks guys.

Good to be back. Also Grandpa Troll has overstated the effects of medication on posting. :'(

BTW I hope he is well, I think Mrs Troll posted something about him.

BTW If I'm serious for a moment. Its a new practice in Slovenia that we get to see how much we cost the system. I'll just say

I don't know if I could have afforded that... I kind of promised myself I won't cheat on my taxes like ever*. Cause after benefiting from a system like that, it would be duplicitous for me to fail at keeping my part of the social contract.

I find it interesting that Americans, who are supposed to place such stock in individual liberty and responsibility, are so desperate to blame "the system" for the individual and personal failings of others.

I find it interesting that people blame it either on the system or individuals, but no one is allowed to blame it on a group of individuals, who happen to share a similar cultural and ethnic heritage. As that would be racist, even if true.

If you swapped Roma for Jews there would be outrage
Yeah, but the Jews were highly productive members of their societies who were often targetted so their assets could be siezed (aside from just plain old-fashioned racism). It's kind of the opposite problem.

Well if Slovakia and Romania would just give Hungary back the land that was stolen from them, there would be no issue.
I see I was mistaken in my earlier assessment.

The point here is that it's a bad idea to single out an entire people for special treatment with some vague generalizations as justification.
Only if membership in that larger group is irrelevant to the problem, i.e. there's a lot more black criminals in the states proportionally; however, that disparity largely dissappears when you take other factors into account such as poverty, etc. I think the fact that they are gypsies is inherently related to the criminality for cultural reasons.

The Gypsies can't possibly be thieves and crooks. If they were, the Italians would have voted them into high office.
                    Well played, sir

Well of course, individuals are perfect... if only the system wouldn't be keeping them down .

                        no conspiracy.

but I'm fully willing to admit that Jewish cultural traights make them better at bussines and more eager to promote themselves to places of influence.

btw, I just celebrated your return

I could string this along, but I'm for some reason finding it hard to use/detect sarcasm, so I'll just be nice:

Damn, that felt like a really stupid thing to say. No wonder I prefer evil characters.

Because "group of indivduals are more..." turns quickly into "you are one of those group, so naturally you are...".
