  • What is perhaps most delusional about him is he thinks I'm the "Ben Kenobi" in this thread.

That comment alone solidifies him as the "Ben Kenobi" of this thread.
"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

I would love it if my grandkids thought of the Middle East as a place where video games and baseball players came from.

The side affect is tentacle hentai and utterly incomprehensible Final Fantasy plotlines, but it's a small price to pay.

      • @ Felch and Patty. The US stands for more than since you did crap to us, we're going to get down in the sewers with you. The US is supposed to be a moral beacon. It's supposed to the "shining city" as President Reagan said. It's not supposed to be the country that abandons its principles once it gets into a scrap.

Thankfully both Senator McCain and Senator Obama have said they'll close the blot on the US that is the Gitmo detention facility.

        • Lighten up, Imran. There's no reason atrocities can't be fun.

Besides, our "moral beacon" got its start butchering natives and enslaving blacks for about a hundred years. And then we went on to treat those natives and blacks like crap, until we got bored and firebombed Dresden, nuked Hiroshima, and Rapalmed™ our way through Vietnam.

It isn't like we're the Swiss or Swedes or any of those "moral" nations.

          • The Swedes are SOME OF THE MOST IMMORAL PEOPLE OF ALL TIME.

Look at how Mats Sundin refused to accept a trade at the deadline to help his team restock the prospects cupboard. Or how Marcus Naslund is a total ****wit who drained the team funds to figure skate on the ice.

            SWEDES ARE EVIL.

            • Just because we don't live up to our moral beaconage all the time doesn't mean we should not aspire to something greater .

For the third time (at least) this thread, I stand corrected.

Let's start with throwing a grenade at US troops, hm? If he is a POW, is there any reason we're supposed to release him after N years?

According to the military's own documents, no one saw him throw a grenade and at least one officer said he didn't throw a grenade and another person who was near him did.

                      • Pat has entered the Nedaverse. We've lost him forever.
I suppose that means everyone asked to quote me saying what you claim I said isn't going to happen.

Typical for Oerdin, but not the rest of you

So honestly, again, someone, anyone, quote where I said I condone torture. Oerdin? Hello?

The US stands for more than since you did crap to us, we're going to get down in the sewers with you.
What part of "If you can show he was tortured I would be all about punishing those involved, but you can't, so I'm not" equates to the above?

I am not Felch, I haven't said anything even remotely similar to him, and the inability of people here to actually respond to what I said vice what they assumed I must have said (and then can't quote) says everything about them, not me. Hell, both Theban and Ramo admitted to just that in this very thread.

What is perhaps most delusional about him is he thinks I'm the "Ben Kenobi" in this thread.
I had actually thought that had rolled off your back, but now that you revisit it I see I hit home and your posting delay is from you crying into your pillow for a few hours.

In any case, you have completely lost it in this thread. No proof of torture, taken to task the GC, and reduced to playing the role of your favorite poster.

                            • I don't know how anyone can look at this thread and declare me the loser, where we've got Felch not caring if children are tortured and a George W. pocket-fanboy who refuses to acknowledge that torture occurs at Gitmo.

                              Whoooooooooooooosh.

I'm too lazy and apathetic to research this, so I'll just ask you. Was this a wild and crazy firefight or more of a structured standoff? It matters because firefights can be pretty damn confusing.
