Secondly, if i'm not wrong, Obama is 47, that puts his teenage years in the late 60's early 70's - during a time smoking was common.

If he is still smoking, it's because of an addiction, i'm sure it's not because he actually wants to continue smoking, smoking addiction varies amongst people, easy for some, hard for others.

From where I stand, China's sense of growing power will only increase it, and America's sense of decreasing safety and increasing local problems will only decrease it (America's power) - unless of course Americans can be hopeful of the future and push forward.
