  • I saw an actual clip last night. This was a prepared speech, so the off the cuff mess up excuse is out. Someone deliberatly wrote the comments that way, and his legion of staffers undoubtedly had time to fact check it. They simple chose not to tell the truth
"The DPRK is still in a state of war with the U.S. It's called a black out." - Che explaining why orbital nightime pictures of NK show few lights. Seriously.

This would seem to be especially true in light of the snipergate fiasco of the Hillary camp. The sad part is that this isn't even the first time he's claimed an uncle in the Soviet army. I thought you wanted to get away from a president who didn't know either history or geography.
      I do, hence my disappointment.

I hope that wasn't a (very well) prepared speech. He stuttered and such quite a lot... I know Las Cruces is hot this time of year, but still.

(I grew up in Las Cruces )

FWIW I don't think he was pandering to Jewish voters; he was pandering to the military. Las Cruces has about twelve jewish people in the city; would be a quite silly place to do so However, NM has a lot of military folk (particularly the nearby Holloman AFB and Ft. Bliss, as well as White Sands Missile Range).

It doesn't make any sense because just because someone is left of DF and right of Che doesn't mean they are in the middle. But then the whole concept of centrism is so ridiculous anyway.

There's nothing ridiculous about having a middle ground, except to extremists.

            • I saw the actual clip too. I've seen other clips where he's misspoken during speeches. It's hilarious how people expect anyone in front of cameras for months on end to never misspeak. It's even more inane that you think that it's impossible that it could be so.

You want to pretend this is some nefarious plot to intentionally mislead people about what concentration camp was involved. It's obvious that it wouldn't go unnoticed. It's equally obvious that there's nothing to gain by making the mistake. If you really believe he was just trying to improve his cred with vets, then how is that served by intentionally making yourself look ignorant of the subject matter you're trying to relate with them about? It just doesn't make any sense at all.

But the main thing wrong with this entire "issue" is that no one gives a damn about the actual issue he was addressing, which is homeless vets suffering from PTSS and his views on what should be done about it. That's what the discussion should be about. It's shameful that so many in our nation would rather jack themselves off about some mistake in a speech than just actually address real issues.

Why would it be any more ridiculous than other political stuff like being "right" or "left"

The ridiculousness is claiming some value to being in the middle. If you are going to claim superiority claim it for what you stand for, not just for your possition regarding others.

This is actually ridiculous, your post.

Who is claiming "value" of being in the middle? People are in the middle because they like some aspects from the "left" and some aspects from the "right" but neither to an extreme degree. There is "value" in believing what you feel is right.

It's not more ridiculous than being "right." It just makes less sense.

Kid, I was responding to Floyd's wild claims about how awfully liberal Obama supposedly is. I thought it was funny, given that Floyd is an extremist (much like Che and you). An extremist ranting about someone else's supposed extremism doesn't impress me.

THAT WAS ALL. I wasn't trying to make some profound point about the virtue of moderation.

Why are they in the middle just because they claim some aspects from both extremes. They aren't in the middle. On the contrary people can either be on the left or on the right. The only way you can be in the middle is by a conscious effort. Then it's not really about what you believe. The value that you have is to be in the middle with out regard to specific principles.

Are you familiar with the concept of an average?

I can walk you through it if you want.

No, left/right isn't binary. Am I left wing or right wing, Kid?

It is unfathomable how stupid your post is.
