How could there be competition? Our sea is better, our women are prettier and we kicked Turkish butt occassionally instead of serving them as "warriors' rest" which was the primary function of Greece during European renaissance and enlightenment

So are people in Luxemburg and Switzerland. You don't need to have a big empire to have something to be proud of. We can be proud that we don't owe our succes to any colonies we can be proud of being a developed country after a centuries of economical exploitation and represion. We can be proud that we survived.

We are a peacefull folk, don't care much for war, we like to cooperate. We did do our part thoug as I shall explain later.


Now Croatians? Well they reamianed independant for far longer, they had a few more GP than us, they where an important political force in Austro-Hungarian Emprie, they came up with a system of writting we in Slovenia have since adopted and works pretty well. I say they have a few things to be proud of. Sure they did try to do a bit of Genocide now and again but they live in a rough neighbourhood, and Germans, Turks and Britons are proud of theri countries and their genocideds dwarf anything the Croats could have ever done.


Croats also held back the Turks during the middle ages.
Off course they could only do that becasue Slovenian provinces provided them the resources so they could keep fighting.
