I would like to thank our other Baltic neighbours Estonia and Latvia who gave us 12 pts. too. (well, to be precise all the Russians who live in those two clearly russofobic states).]

The Ukrianian was SEXYYYYYY!
How come Greece was 1st in semi-finals and Russian 3rd and then in the finals Greece 3rth and Russia 1st?
What can I say?
I'm glad though that there are other blocks besides that hard to beat nordic block. Now the eastern block in unbeatable.
Unfortunately we as Greece are nobody's 100% brother but still we got plenty of votes from eastern countries but also from western countries, UK as one.
What can I say. Strange things.
Ukraine was SEXY
Russia had a stratovarius and an olympic scater...
Ok. Innovative original. And lyrics like I BELIEVE IN ME come on, they are great.
Happy Russia won (I would prefer Greece, really but just because the song I think was better) but ok. What can one do. Armenia was hot too.Last edited by falcon41; May 26, 2008, 21:39.

So the countries that vote in the finals are MORE than the ones who vote for the semi-finals?
(I don't know, I'm asking).
Anyway, glad Russia won because I'm sure it will be phantasmagorical in St. Petersburg next year
I might even consider going, as first trip to Russia.
Latest wins: Greece, Finland, Serbia, Russia.
Nice twist to events

There were 43 countries total. Five countries got to the finals automatically (four countries-founders (which is an obvious cheat and partly a reson why those countries suck in finals so badly every year, imho) and a host nation (Serbia). Remaning 38 countries were divided on two groups (two semi-finals). In each semi-final all participants (43 countries) elected 10 finalists. But they voted separatelly in each semi. In the finals it was 10 finalists from the first semi +10 finalists from the second semi + 5 auto-countries. So, there were more voting options and as a result - a different outcome. For example, the countries who voted for Greece in the 1st semi, in the finals could vote for the countries from the second semi or for 5 countries that made it to finals automatically. In the first semi you couldn't vote for the countries from the second semi, in finals you could. That's why the outcome was different.

The Slavic/Orthodox block owns this contest
Look at top six of 2008 Eurovision:

2. Ukraine
3. Greece
4. Armenia
5. Norway (ok, it's the only exception)
6. Serbia

Unfortunately we as Greece are nobody's 100% brother"The world is too small in Vorarlberg". Austrian ex-vice-chancellor Hubert Gorbach in a letter to Alistar [sic] Darling, looking for a job...
"Let me break this down for you, fresh from algebra II. A 95% chance to win 5 times means a (95*5) chance to win = 475% chance to win." Wiglaf, Court jester or hayseed, you judge.
