Money never seems to stay in my hands long enough.

Or, there could be diecuts -- different shapes for different denominations.

Better yet -- talking money -- bills with implanted audio chips. They could even be bilingual. Tiny transducer in the president's mouth.

Great idea. You could even offset the cost of the bill by selling advertising.

This $1 bill could be earning you a whopping 1.5% annual rate of interest if you deposited into a Chase Manhattan Bank savings account.

Why not just increase the amount of engraving on the notes?

Pfff. Each town should have their own.

If you were to nip down to Devon's Totnes market on a Saturday looking to buy some spelt flour pancakes, crêpes or falafels, then you might just encounter Lou Brown, who is a remarkably fine cook. But she has another, non-culinary distinction. Unlike most businesses in the country, Brown does not deal in currency with a picture of the Queen's head on it. No, instead, her change features an image much closer to home. The town where she lives.

How about cutting notches in the edges of the paper?

Would embossing bumps on the bills like the Canadians do interfere with the ability to stack the money?

It's barely noticable. It can't affect stacking.
