Bearinger?
My brother lived in an apartment at Bearinger and Parkside last year...
My dad lived on Albert St several times in the late 70s..."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

That how it's spelled?
I haven't been back there in many years.
I was in the townhouses on Albert (plaza side). 500 somerthing was the address iirc. 3rd (2nd?) unit from the end."I have never killed a man, but I have read many obituaries with great pleasure." - Clarence Darrow

If we're talking about the road north of the UW Campus, then yes.Originally posted by Wezil

Not correct.Originally posted by snoopy369
I read it, and that's where I got the May 24th reference from
I presumed that the latter (the beer reference) is simply a consequence of the former. If it were May 12th, you'd be drinking twelve packs

The 2-4 (beer) goes back as far as I can remember.
It is recently and only in some places that the weekend is referred to as the 2-4 weekend. Mostly Ontario and due to a beer company's promotions, I think.
I'd never heard the weekend referred to as that until recently when listening to a Toronto radio station, and a Labatt's commercial.(\__/)

Geez the campus wasn't that far north then. A big field with only the radio station was the only thing past the hockey rinks as I recall."I have never killed a man, but I have read many obituaries with great pleasure." - Clarence Darrow

That's basically what it still is -- the fields are still there. There's a couple new buildings right on Columbia, I think Optometry's new building is under construction there.Originally posted by Wezil

The ice rinks are called the Columbia Ice Fields. It's very clever, really."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Yeah, I remeber that. A friend and I played a round of golf at the 9-hole crap course there on Canada Day one year (it was really just an excuse to get drunk) then frightened all the kids gathered at Columbia Lake for fireworks as we came staggering through..."I have never killed a man, but I have read many obituaries with great pleasure." - Clarence Darrow

I'll keep it formal for you and spare you the uncouth Ontario ways...
Happy Victoria Day.
