So, um, out of curiosity, and because I haven't been here from the beginning, how did you get involved in the whole deal in the Philippines?
Lancer's wife Dolores is a Filapina.
Like many people from the Phillipines, she's very attached to her family.
As a result, Lancer & Dolores spend six months a year in Oregon making money; and six months in the Phillipines spending money.
I'm thinking of nominating them for the Nobel Physics Prize because they've invented perpetual motion.

Having had no luck finding 'the right girl' in the US I looked in the Phils, and I've got the girl I was always looking for. We're together 11 years and the honeymoon shows no sign of ending.

Yeah, I've gathered that much.
I'm more curious how they ended up meeting to begin with.
I grew up next to a Philipino family, and a Tongan family. (boy did they hate each other though) Over the years, both brought more family members over, and by the time I left home, half the neighborhood was all relatives of one or the other.
It shocked some folks at my first real job. A couple of philippino ladies were off muttering and not working. I used a few choice words I picked up in my youth and scared the hell out of em.
"How you know my language!!?!?!"
I do miss some of the pot lucks from the old neighborhood, though...

Once upon a time, Lancer got fed up with American women. He wanted someone more traditional than the women over here. So he found female pen pals in the Philippines. And one day, he flew across the big blue sea to meet them.
Well, it turned out, not only was Lancer looking in the Philippines, but he was looking in a very conservative part of the Philippines, where ladies are not allowed to go out on a date unless a chaperone goes with them. (No, really!)
So, there was a lady there who arranged for the chaperones. It turned out Lancer discovered all of his lady pen pals were boring. However, the lady who was arranging for the chaperones had a bit of spunk to her, a bit of snap. So, he asked her out. She had to scramble to find herself a chaperone.
But she turned out to be Dolores. And everyone lived happily ever after.
I have been, largely, but I missed a few days with work... sorry!
Well that's cool to know Snoopy.
UnOrthOdOx, you miss the lumpia? Dolores makes the best! ...and her pancit, to die for. She's also picked up lots of American food recipes and turns out one of the best spag sauces I've ever experienced.
"But she turned out to be Dolores. And everyone lived happily ever after." Yup, all true. Though I'm sure it was all my fault with the American women.
"But you show excellent judgment in avoiding American women. Some of them are REALLY weird."
You don't say Alinestra. Actually I met several American women that I thought were great, but they were married.
