BS. It was and OBVIOUS delay of the game, we have been penaltized for that kind of crap twice and you scored. The refs were clearly on your side and did their best to let you win at home, so, stop complaining, that penalty WAS TOO freaking OBVIOUS!

Nice job, Serb, now your country has a reason to live for a few days.
Forget about your anti-Russian sh!t for a second. I know you have seen the game, now as hockey fan to a hockey fan, can you admit that it was an absolutely great game? A real thriller.

I'm just saying I'm not a fan of that penalty as a rule, in the NHL or otherwise.

It was a great game, I just wish Canada had one of their world-class goalies to go with the team. I don't think Ward or Leclaire are one of them.

That being said, I have to think the win feels a bit hollow whenever it happens in a 4 on 3 situation due to one of the lamest penalties ever in hockey (the inadvertent puck-over-glass). I know my NHL team has won several games like this during the season, and it never feels the same as a hard-earned, 5 on 5 game in regulation.

Canada has still won 5 of the last 6 games against Russia. Keep that in mind.

A real showdown of TWO hockey superpowers ( I do give my credit for team Canada, you were great, but… that were Russians and their unbreakable Russia spirit).
          Unbreakable Russian spirit?

The same spirit that broke spectacularly in the early 1990s?

I feel you pain, you were too damn close, but you can't spoil my happiness with a coment like this.

I FEEL ABSOLUTELY HAPPY (and gonna say an absolutely hersey right now). I hever thought that I will ever say that, but:

            ILYA KOVALTCHUK IS THE BEST!!!

(I'm slowly eating my hat for my lack of faith in him).

                • Seems like a funny sport, for example the whole idea of playing on ice, wouldn't it be easier for them to play on grass? No chance of slipping. Also the small disc is pretty hard to manipulate and moves only in 2D, a flexible spherical object would make much more sense. I'd keep the sticks though, lots of potential there.

With minor modifications this could be made into a proper sport, but,

                  congratulations anyway

                    • Grass is too slow.
Spherical balls are too slow also.

It sounds like you are describing a sport for girls or Europeans and not men.

Kovalchuk is a one-dimensional, dirty player who is streaky. He should be captain of your team, accordingly.

                          1) You had a superb team.
                          2) I agree a five on five win would have been a much better win for us.
                          3) BUT you had a power play for the ENTIRE HALF OF THE FIRST PERIOD. That gave you a very comfort lead.
We have been penaltised for absolutely THE SAME LAME PENALTY TWICE (and you scored).
You have have no right to complain about unjust reffering (we can complain about that, not you. The reffs were clearly on your side, not on ours).

Canada has still won 5 of the last 6 games against Russia. Keep that in mind.
What are you talking about? You mean juniours? The last time our seniour teams played at international level was at 1/4 of the Turin Olympic and you lost 2:0.
After tonight victory, both Russia and Canada have 24 IIHF gold medals, so it's not over, yet (and I really hope it never will, since you are a real opposition).
                          Keep that in mind

But what about 0:2 at the last Olympic games? That match was especially remarkable as all the strongest players were present on both sides.

I didn't complain about unjust reffing, I complained about a stupid rule. I would've been much happier if the rule was eliminated, in the NHL and IIHF. I realize we scored on it too. I still hate the rule.

                                At IIHF.

And Russia doesn't have 24 IIHF gold. They have 1.
