It is not up to your parents who you date, period. If you want to be with this woman, and you want to be worthy of her, the first step you have to take is to become an adult by not allowing your parents to have veto power over your love life.

While I might not let my parents run my love life, I will keep them at least semi-informed. And like I said, at no point did they tell me what to do. They just didnt understand what the deal was with me shacking up with this older woman. They probably won't be thrilled with me going back to her in a lot of ways, but I don't think I have a choice in that anymore.
