That's not an arguement. Politicians normally do not speak truthfully. We still analyse the situation.

You're retarded. Everyone knows that, even you.[/mindreadingkid]
More non-argument crap. Do you have any valid points at all?
It is patently obvious that everyone does not know that he was lying to America about why he went to church. It's quite possible that he went to church for other reasons even, perhaps even the ones he's stated. Glad to see you tuned your crystal ball into every last person's thoughts though! It's not just for Obama anymore!
Oh Christ! You wouldn't know obvious if it hit you in the face!

I was mocking you. Here, try this one: "I agree with Kid" if by "I agree with Kid" we mean I think he's bat**** insane.
You're an idiot. Everyone knew it was political posturing. It's like you know nothing about politics at all.

Sure you want to try to twist it now, since your argument holds no water. (Not that it helps yout to change the term, as "dropped" does not mean "maintained a relationship with" anymore than "abandoned" does.)

In any case... Kid used the term "abandoned". You said Kid's point was correct.

"What about what Obama is doing to the black community? It appears to me that he used this church for his political needs and now he's abandoning them." - Kid

"Kid IS making a good point though (I can't believe I said that )." - Imran

Oh... and lest we forget... from the post you want me to "attempt to use my OWN words against me"...

"But, I do think he took steps to abandon the Reverend and the Church back in March." - Imran

... But thanks for the "very wussy passive" (not really aggressive, unless you mean towards yourself ) way that you just admitted the term "abandon" confirms my point. Of course the term "dropped" also confirms my point. As does "shedding it as quickly as he can".

      • I used abandon as in a relative term. Nice little game you have going with it though.

Of course Obama will still try to get the black vote. I wouldn't be suprised to see him make an extra effort now in fact.

I said Kid was making a good point and made clear I didn't agree with everything he was saying (like the black community part).

But I think it is very obvious that Obama tried to put a lot of distance between him and Wright/the Church when it was starting to become a political liability after using it to gain politically.

Standard political tactic, sure, but for someone who says he's against "politics as usual", somewhat problematic.

But, I do think he took steps to abandon the Reverend and the Church back in March

Probably should have used the term 'distanced', but 'taking steps to abandon' is the not the same as 'abandon' (difference of degrees)

No, I didn't. I made fun of your misuse of "political posturing". It does not mean "to deny a bat**** insane conspiracy theory". Sorry that went over your head.

So Obama should be so outraged by the truth?! And isn't it reasonable for Wright to defend his church?
Wright can do whatever he wants. Going on national TV and calling Obama a liar does not mean that Obama "abandoned" Wright. It means Wright did it himself.

I don't see the problem with Obama distancing himself from Wright, but not outright denounceing him. I also, don't see a problem with Wright telling people exactly what, in his opinion, what Obama was doing. What the hell do you expect him to do?
I don't expect him to do or not do anything. He can do what he wants. But when he throws Obama under a bus, that's what it is.

[quote]So what reason does Obama have for this lattest action against Wright, the pastor of his church. What reason for this outrage?

Because Wright called him a liar. Duh.

Do you admit it's political posturing again?
I'm sorry, but I don't have a crystal ball that tells me the inner workings of Obama's brain. You'll have to cover that.

Are you saying that Obama didn't abandon the Rev and the Church? Or did?

He betrayed them. That's my word. I'm sticking to it.

I'm saying back in March, Obama tried to put as much distance as possible between the Reverend and the Church without completely abandoning them. I dunno if betrayed (as Kid just said) is too harsh a word to use, but he definately tried to turn his back away from them.

Now, of course, he has abandoned them... but it'd have been political suicide if he hadn't.

It wasn't just the AIDS/govt claim. It was much more than that. But I will humor you. Why not?

What?! That's a ridiculous meaningless statement. Of course Obama didn't abandon Wright by Wrights own actions. That's doesn't even make any sense. Christ! Do you have anything meaningfull to say at all?!

Wright made a truthfull statement when he was asked the question of why Obama was trying to distance himself from Wright. You expected him to say something esle. What exactly did you expect him so say? And could you please answer.

I don't expect him to do or not do anything. He can do what he wants. But when he throws Obama under a bus, that's what it is.
You expect people to be exact and you as saying that Wright "threw him under a bus." How the hell can we take you seriously. All Wright did was make a truthfull statement, one that everyone knew the answer to and that everyone expected him to make.

I'm sorry, but I don't have a crystal ball that tells me the inner workings of Obama's brain. You'll have to cover that.
Why do you bother to talk about politics if you don't know how politicians brains work?

He distanced himself from the statements and ideology. Watch the clip I posted again. Watch it until you understand what he is doing there. He's sticking his neck out to maintain a personal relationship with the Rev.

And the Rev went ahead and cut it off. That is being abandoned, not the other way around.

The question is largely irrelevent because the majority public (aka the people Obama has to appeal to) has decided to be offended by Wright's statements. I'm suprised you seem to be unaware of that and are trying to defend statements Obama himself has started to attack claiming to have finally taken his earplugs out.
