Unions seem to have a knack for self-destruction. It's common knowledge that unions all but killed New York City's status as a major shipbuilding center. They've greatly contributed to the flight of manufacturing jobs out of the United States.

There are also acts of vandalism taking place as riders furious over the strike send a message to TTC workers.

At Union Station, someone spray-painted the steel doors of the TTC entrance at Bay and Front.

"If you want $30/hr," reads the blue spray paint, "go to university." Beneath it was crude drawing of a penis.

Similar vandalism, apparently by the person, marred the glass wall of a bus stop just a few metres away.

Their leadership reached a deal, the union rejected it. Then without even going back to the table, or given a courtesy notice, they just said STRIKKKEEE.

That's completely unacceptable. I WISH they would bust this union just to make a point.

Unions were formed to prevent exploitation of its workers, but now the tables have turned such that unions are exploiting the taxpayer and general public. It is disgusting and you should be ashamed for giving these *******s a thumbs up.

I like how unions can take very under paid employees and turn them into decent paid employees. I hate how unions end up being so stupid they destroy the very jobs they're supposed to protect.

Why not cut to the chase and throw the leaders in jail? Perhaps kill a couple of them for a show of force. Another good idea would be to hire some goons and beat the crap out of the strikers on the picket lines, just like the good old days.

The leaders were the ones who agreed to a deal. The union members were the ones who still decided to strike.
