But, having been allowed for a short time ( and then voluntarily leaving), to be a member of Staff I saw a small bit of what goes on behind the scenes.

Yes many many hard hours and yes on occassion a painter travelling through may have a suggestion or two..perhaps even a carpenter who seeings something out of kilter or that squaky board thats loose needs fixing, but we all to remember that these add character to Apolyton.

Heck, this is a website and thats all.

It was built or erected for the civin community in mind and the OT is just that, off civin topic.

Me, if I dont like what I see or hear, I simply go someplace to suit my needs or desires.

I have lots of online acquaintences here, heck I haven't posted over 35,000 posts because I dont like Apolyton.

The more I think about it, the more refreshing it is to hear rah (and not putting words in other three owners mouths) speak out in public with clarity about who is the HMFIC (Head Mudder fricker in charge) and who is the minion, who is invited in the inner sanctum and who is not........


Like all families, we all are opinionated and when it is all said and done, we simply have one voice or one direction to go.

And like all families, who have a familiar pet, or a favorite chair that gets old and must be replaced or put out of its misery, thus the necessary changes that are abound.

I reflect on my favorite game Call To Power, slowly taking a few last raspy gasps of air, which will to me, allways have a special place in my heart.

This is not a democracy. You have no 'rights' here (even if you pay). You have privileges. And those privileges can be taken at anytime for any reason.

i guess it never ****ing occured to anyone, that some of us dont post anymore cause of the **** we get afterwords, i am tired of getting pissed on cause i dont spell something right. Hence my sig but since most of us dont matter who gives a sh!t When the egos deflate around here folks might rethink this thought.

Mrs. Tuberski, I am also a member of the dont quite get things spelled correctly sometimes and have allways respected you as a wonderful sister and a sweet person and blessed tro have conversed with you on several occasions.

I dont agree with the living room analogy...We are not your guests, we are your customers.
Poly is not your living room, its our hotel and you are the owner. We make this site what it is and you manage it. Period.

A hotel without customers will go bankrupt.
If customers are dissatisfied then they will leave. If customer complain to the hotel manager and he brushes them off, they will leave. Hotel managers are supposed to be opened minded and endure their customers arrogance and take the good out of what was said. Thats what customer service is. Unless the customres is a real dumbass...But my definition of dumbass may not be yours though.

Your site is nothing without the community. You would have no adds if you didn't have the traffic WE provide you with.

People like Asher can be stupid sometimes, but if you wieght the pros and cons of having people like Asher as a poster here, there is more good then bad that comes from him, better quality posts, encourages discussion, hence it increases traffic.

Having a mod like Locutus acting like he did is no where near a good "customer service". He was easily pissed and hooked on the words "******" that Asher said instead of getting his point. If it was my hotel and Locutus was the manager, he would be looking for a new job right now.

Basicly, this is bullcrap.

Also, Ming has no tact in PMs and tries to act all tough and hard. He likes the notoriousness and it shows, and that just takes down any respect I have for him.
I think if I hear DEAL WITH IT one more time I'm just gonna pack and leave. I never heard a hotel manager say DEAL WITH IT to its customers unless they really looked for it.

Also I got Banned by Ming once because my roomie opened an account on Poly and Ming said it was a DL because it was the same IP number....No **** sherlock! We are using the same computer!! But he never even listened to my explination and held up the ban...Imagine the impression that did on my roomy...Think he wanted to come back here and post? And he wanted to post here for the OT, not Civ...Kudos!

In my opinion, you have two viable options:

1) Set aside the history of Asher v. mods and treat him as you would treat others (there is, in fact, a double standard at work. I understand where it comes from, really I do, but it does exist); or

2) Permaban Asher.

The way I see it, if you cannot manage the first option, you should go ahead with the second, because Asher isn't going to change. Therefore, every so often he'll get banned and there will be "free Asher!" and "not fair!" cries of varying validity. There will be much wailing, rending of garments and gnashing of teeth. And it will be annoying.

p.s. And yes, of course Asher could take it upon himself to put aside the past and change his behavior, but he won't, and he won't listen to me, so that's why I didn't suggest it.

Overall I think the site is run well. There can always be issues I would - maybe - handle differently, but then I don't run the site, and I know you hardly have 100% of users agreeing on everything.
